Pesach List

KITNIYOT/NOT KITNIYOT

Kitniyot are customarily not eaten by Ashkenazim due to their similarities to Chametz when harvested or ground into flour and because they are often grown in close proximity to Chametz grains (such as wheat, barley, spelt, rye and oats). Those Sephardim who eat Rice and legumes must hand checked grain by grain 3 times before Pesach for foreign grains.
